According to a Richmond County sheriff’s release, emergency responders were called to the 3700 block of Bansbury Lane in Hephzibah on Wednesday in reference to a toddler in cardiac arrest. The child, who was unresponsive, was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center. Police said doctors told them the child had injuries consistent with child abuse.
The investigation is in its early stages and no charges have been filed, police said.
