The manager of a downtown Augusta bar is facing charges of sexually attacking a woman who took him home Sunday.

According to a North Augusta Public Safety report, the woman, who works at The Playground with Frank Colafrancesco, offered to take him to his North Augusta home because he was too drunk to drive.

At his home, Colafrancesco forced himself on her, tied her with rope and repeatedly sexually assaulted her, according to the report. Police said he had previously told the victim he had been having trouble with his girlfriend.

The victim told police she escaped after several unsuccessful attempts and contacted them.

It is The Augusta Chronicle’s policy to not identify victims of sexual assault by name.

Colafrancesco, 32, has been booked into the Aiken County Detention Center on charges of sex/criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.

Standard English

Most English teachers prefer "not to identify" over "to not identify."

How's about

we re-introduce the death penalty for clear-cut, absolutely-no-question-that-he-did-it, DNA, caught-on-camera rape? Especially child rape.

I'm sure . . .

. . . it won't take long for the owner to hire a new bar manager.

Aiken County might actually

Aiken County might actually prosecute him. Richmond County would probably let him plea bargain down to 2nd degree sexual assault, suspended sentence, and probation. He needs to do about 40 years with no chance of parole so he won't be so froggy when he gets out.

Going to J school

doesn't automatically mean a person can write very well or do it correctly. It just means they passed the courses and have something that looks promising on a resume.

I'd rather have a good writer who knows how to think critically over a J school grad with good grades any day. The former tend to be more insightful and much more entertaining.

(Later: Oh, my. It looks like I touched a few nerves. Aww.)

Little Lamb - Picky....

picky... But you are absolutely right.

On the other hand, the victim in this case probably isn't into grammer checking. At least not right at the moment.

Play, Pay

There is a rule of thumb about romantic affairs in the workplace:

Don't play where you get your pay.

But when your workplace is The Playground, it gets a bit confusing.

Hold on guys, don't start

Hold on guys, don't start blaming her. This is why a large percentage of rapes go unreported....nobody wants to be drug through the mud.

Don't identify rape victims

We don't allow rape victims to be identified in our comments. If you think you know who she is, keep it to yourself.
