A judge granted bond to a Grovetown woman charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy in her care.

Superior Court Senior Judge Albert Pickett granted a $40,000 bond Friday to Ashley Leigh Wood, 36, of Bradley Way. Wood was charged Jan. 31 with aggravated child molestation.

For about eight months, Wood was a baby sitter for a Grovetown family that included three young children and a 14-year-old boy. On Jan. 24, the teen told his parents that Wood had offered and provided him oral sex inside the family’s home, according to Assistant District Attorney Grant Usry.

The teen said Wood regularly talked to him in a sexually explicit manner and tried to sit on his lap as he played video games Jan. 24, Usry said.

The terms of Wood’s bond include living with her parents, not leaving their Columbia County home and having no contact with the teen or his family.
