The Japan Express restaurant at 2760 Tobacco Road was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, and the gunman ran away after taking cash from the register and tip jar.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a black man wearing a black pullover hoodie came into the business about 8:45 p.m. and pointed a gun at the employee behind the counter before taking the cash.

He then fled across Tobacco Road and went north on Hiers Boulevard. The victim did not call police “because she was afraid and her English is very broken,” according to the report.

A business owner next door to the restaurant reported the robbery Thursday after reviewing his security camera footage, which he gave to police.

Gun crime

Gun crime continues to proliferate in Augusta. Those who use guns during the commision of a crime should be sentenced to long, hard prison time.
Soft on gun-crime, local plea-bargain judges continue to demonstrate that they are the root cause of this proliferation with their lenient sentencing.
These local criminal court judges have turned a deaf ear to our public outcry for a crack down on gun crime. They continue to refuse to impose long prison sentences on those who are found guilty of gun crimes. Shame on them!

Given the number of Hoodies used in Armed Robberies, we need to pass preventive laws own or purchase a Hoody.

* Ban private ownership of reversible hoodies to the public.

* Background check and Tax for Hoodies capible hiding the face of the wearer.

* Limit 1 Hoody per person and 1 draw string per hoody.

* Special added tax for Hoodies with removeable hoods.

* 10 day waiting period on the purchase of a hoody

* A Government buy back program to rid our streets of Hoodies

* Plus add 5 Years without parole for the use of a Hoody while committing a crime.

Also, any possibility

of sharing a viable Picture of the suspect from the Video?

BTW: Any word yet from President Obama-Santos if he wished the hooded robber was like his imaginary son?

Too bad the restaurant was

Too bad the restaurant was not designated as a gun-free zone. That would have stopped the perpetrator from using that gun.
