Anthony Blade Turner, 18; Bakerlee Brannen Cochran, 17; and a 16-year-old, all of Grovetown, were arrested Thursday. Larry Charles Porche, 17, of Grovetown, was arrested Dec. 29; Austin Tyler Love, 17, of Grovetown was charged Dec. 31; and Christopher Scott Love was arrested Jan. 2.

All six are charged with robbery by force, aggravated assault, criminal attempt at robbery, entering an auto and criminal trespass, according to Grovetown Department of Public Safety Investigator Jones Nalley. The 16-year-old also is charged with possession of a firearm by someone under 18.

The six teens went to Eagle Point apartments on Whiskey Road on Dec. 28 with the intent to rob someone, Nalley said. When they found no potential victims, the teens broke into a truck.

The owner of the truck confronted the teens with a handgun and a fight ensued. The teens took the man’s gun, shoes and a bag of tools from his truck and ran away, Nalley said.

Turner and Cochran were being held in the Grovetown jail Thursday evening on an $81,600 bond, Nalley said. The Loves and Porche are being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.

The 16-year-old is being held in the Regional Youth Detention Center and has a detention hearing scheduled in Columbia County Juvenile Court.

Training and Practice

I guess this story illustrates the need to obtain training and to practice often once you buy a gun for protection. Lesson: If you have a gun in your hand, don't use it to try to pistol whip six teenagers.

Never have a gun

unless you plan to use it when challenging a criminal or gang.

Of course always remember, you can't use a firearm to protect yourself while getting you head bashed, if the criminal (future victim) is wearing a hoodie.

You don't use a gun as a

You don't use a gun as a warning. Shooting one in the leg will do nothing but give you the headache of a lawsuit.

If you are justified to draw down on someone you are justified to kill them where they stand. Brandishing a weapon as a tool of fear nets you the results above. Dead, or beat up and your gun stolen.

You should not carry a firearm if you are not prepared to use it as the tool it was created for.

Anthony Blade Turner,

Anthony Blade Turner, Bakerlee Brannen Cochran, and the 16 year old are my cousins. I hope they get the full sentence they deserve. I'm just glad they're locked up and not dead. What they did was stupid. You wouldn't believe the hell I've been getting from some family members about saying that but I don't care who you are, if you do the crime, you do the time. Like I said before,I'm just glad they are in jail and not the morgue.

Once you pull that gun you

Once you pull that gun you have to pull the trigger if they make a move toward you. This could and WOULD have been a different story with people I know.
