Stephen Babb, 28, pleaded guilty to two counts in U.S. District Court in Augusta. Each count is punishable by five to 20 years in prison, with probation of five years to life afterward, fines up to $250,000 and lifetime placement on the sex offender registry.
Federal agents were alerted when images containing child porn were sent over public Internet services. The e-mails were traced to Babb, who has been held since his September arrest.
On Tuesday, he admitted he had sent and received such images through a Russian Web site.
A sentencing date will be set after a pre-sentencing report is prepared.
