Police seek help finding man who sold stolen car to recycling center

Police are searching for the white male in the black jacket. The man behind him is not associated with the crime.

Police are asking for help finding a man who sold a stolen car to an Augusta recycling center in December.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office release, the 2000 Toyota Carolla was sold to Newell’s Recycling on Dec. 26 after being reported stolen three days earlier.

Investigators found the car at the recycling center Jan. 4. After investigating, police learned the man who sold the car had used identification previously stolen from Aiken.
