Police continue to search for two suspects in a Thursday night robbery and beating that sent a man to the hospital.

One suspect was arrested shortly after he sped away from deputies and crashed into a car and then a ditch on New Savannah Road.

The victim, Benjamin Franklin Rhodes, 39, was arrested after his release from the hospital on a child support superior court bench warrant.

According to a news release, deputies were called about 8:30 p.m. to the 900 block Cedar Street where they discovered Rhodes badly beaten. The Rhodes told police he’d been assaulted by his roommate Michael Gibson, 23, his brother, Freddie Gibson, 22, and Charles Kellam, 21. The three also took his car, Rhodes said.

Lt. Calvin Chew said the motive appears to be robbery.

Kellam was booked into Richmond County jail on charges of armed robbery, possession of a knife or firearm during the commission of a crime, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and theft by taking.

Police continue to search for the Gibson brothers, who will face the same charges.

Kudos for RCSO.

You got them and got them quick.

Aggravated Assault , Grand Theft , felony evasion , resisting arrest etc...
Seems like what ever sparked this incident is going to cost them a few years and the ARC taxpayers $$$.

The way things are so intertwined. The taxpayers may be looking at supporting their extended families, PC Term for multiple baby mama's & kids, for the same number of years they are in Jail.

Some times the Taxpayers can't catch a break.

Another Police Chase.....

I saw part of this chase going home from work last night. I saw a traffic division patrol car running code 3 going east in the west bound lanes of Gordon Hwy from Molly Pond Rd to New Savannah Rd and wondered what was up. I am glad the officers or anyone else were not hurt by this chase. There has been a lot of police chases around here lately.

Not in the CBD.....

but getting close. Twenty Hail Mary's and a good dose of The Twelve Steps of Roundtree love and kindness will make this go away.
