An Aiken man has been charged with making verbal threats to an Aiken Public Safety investigator.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents arrested Willie Maurice Franklin, 23, of Stone Drive, on Wednesday on charges of threatening a public official. The misdemeanor offense comes with a penalty upon conviction of up to five years in prison, a $5,000 fine or both.

According to a warrant, Franklin threatened Investigator Kirk Owen on Monday at the Aiken County Detention Center, 435 Wire Road.

Franklin had been arrested by officers Monday morning in connection with a series of burglaries in downtown Aiken last week. From that arrest, he faces charges of trespassing after notice, criminal conspiracy and accessory after the fact.

What was the threat? Was it a terroristic threat?

It is important that the story include facts? Yo mama? Kick yo scrony arse? I am going to shoot you? Misdemeanor threats to an on duty LEO?
He will plea to the misdemeanor, rat out his friends and the other charges will be dropped. Wasted motion. Revolving crime doors.
