Andrew C. Walker, 32, will serve the federal prison sentence without the possibility of parole. Walker was the third member of a four-man crew that robbed several businesses at gunpoint beginning in November 2008.
Oscar M. Bwanali, 26, of Atlanta, Joey L. Greene Jr., 28, of Charlotte, N.C., and Davon M. Saxton, 26, of Augusta have also entered guilty pleas in U.S. District Court in Augusta. Bwanali was sentenced to 240 months in prison and Greene was sentenced to 71 months. Saxton is to be sentenced Jan. 22.
Walker, according to the indictment, participated in: the Aug. 1, 2009, armed robbery of Chili’s Restaurant in Augusta; the Sept. 3, 2009, armed robbery of the Check Exchange in Augusta; the Dec. 9, 2009, armed robbery of Check Cashing in Grovetown; and the Aug. 9, 2011, armed robbery of a Loomis armored car driver in Columbia County. Saxton and Bwanali were accused of the Feb. 1, 2010, attempted robbery of Ruby Tuesdays in Augusta. There was also a Sept. 14, 2010, robbery of an Atlanta check cashing service.
