A Richmond County police chase ended with a crash and arrest in Aiken County early Monday.

Timothy Baughman Jr. was taken to a hospital after crashing his car during a police chase, authorities say.
Timothy Baughman Jr. was taken to a hospital after crashing his car during a police chase, authorities say.

Deputies say they spotted a vehicle suspected in a 12:25 a.m. shooting at Checkers in the 3400 block of Wrightsboro Road. The vehicle sped into Aiken County, where it crashed into a tree on Atomic Road at Edmunds Loop.

The driver, identified as Timothy Shane Baughman Jr., was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, then committed to the Richmond County jail on charges of fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, driving while license suspended and an outstanding Superior Court bench warrant. Police found a handgun in the vehicle.

It’s the second Richmond County chase that led to a crash in Aiken County in less than a week.

On Jan. 9, two North Augusta brothers – Derrick Darden, 23, and Deante Darden, 22 – died after crashing into a tree in the 500 block of Carolina Springs Road in North Augusta. A Richmond County deputy had tried to stop the car at Fourth and Reynolds streets.

Gun Laws

Joe Biden's gun control laws will stop this kind of thing from happening. Give it your support.

How's that running thing

How's that running thing working out for you Timothy? Not the brightest bulb on the tree, huh? Don't know if you did the shooting or not but hope you get 10 years in the slammer just for running from the cops.

You can't outrun a radio!

I don't care if you can set a land speed record - you can't outrun a radio. One cop car turns into two, then ten, etc. etc. and it never ends well.
What percentage of criminal ever successfully evade the authorities? Probably less than five percent, if that many.

Gun Laws

Because Biden's new gun restrictions are going to usher in a new era of peace and light; a world where criminals start obeying laws.

I betcha

he crashed the car cause he was wearing that neckbrace. No one can drive with one of those things on. You can't turn your head to check for oncoming traffic! And maybe, just maybe, he was trying to get to Sherif Roundtree's house to turn himself in but simply got turned around by accident and wound up in South Carolina. And I bet he really is a good boy!

Have they used the new cars in these chases yet? I'd like to hear how they are doing. From what i've they are suppose to be fast and handle better.

so much for his reading and writing skills. Biden is a classic career politician. A bottom feeding scum bag. A postulating sore on a dead horse. A whore to greed.

Sadly, i know him.

Sadly I am indirectly related to this guy though I dont live in the Augusta/N Augusta area anymore. He has been the cause of a lot more drama than just this lately. This guy has robbed from his own grandmother, stole her car, threatened his grandmother and grandfather, and is also probably responsible for driving by their house and killing two of their dogs and firing at their house. The reason? Because they put out one of the aforementioned warrants for the guy.

It is a sad situation. Im rather dissapointed to have to call him "family".
