James Ousley, 65, of Harlem, was airlifted to Medical College of Georgia Hospital at about 2 p.m. after his SUV was hit by a truck on West Milledgeville Road near Sawdust Road, Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said.
Hospital spokeswoman Denise Parrish said Monday evening that Ousley was in serious condition.
Ousley was driving east in a 2006 Pontiac Torrent when a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the opposite direction crossed the center line and hit his vehicle, Morris said.
The truck’s driver, Eugene Williamson, 35, of Dearing, is in serious condition, Parrish said. Ousley’s passenger, Richard Huffman, 59, of Harlem, was in fair condition, Parrish said.
Williamson was at fault in the wreck and charges are pending, Morris said.
Ousley was not wearing his seat belt, Morris said.
