Richmond County sheriff’s investigators said Friday they suspect that the man they arrested in a fatal New Year’s morning shooting was firing at someone else when his bullet hit the victim.

Deontre Alvez Hubert had been charged with murder.

Lt. Calvin Chew said Deontre Alvez Hubert, 18, of the 500 block of Richmond Hill Road West, was taken into custody late Thursday and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime. He is charged in the slaying Tuesday morning of Edward Yancey, 21, at Club Fiescos on Peach Orchard Road.

Chew said that Hubert knew the victim but that Yancey wasn’t the intended target when Hubert fired into the club from the parking lot. Yancey was standing next to people at whom Hubert was shooting, Chew said.

Although investigators are still working on the case, they believe the gunfire resulted when one group of people confronted another at the club after 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Hubert, who has no criminal record in Richmond County state or superior courts, is being held in jail.

that is correct in a "normal" sense... I suggest those who disagree with my respect theory do some reading and research if hands-on-learning isn't your thang. Perhaps you can start with B-I-G and 2pac.

The funny this is that this

The funny this is that this is an initial report. And as it seems that we have already came to judgement in this situation that this young man is guilty of this malicious crime. People being fimiliar with this case there are some details that have not been released to the public as in most cases. We see these initial reports and quickly judge. Example they say "WITNESSES" who are these witnesses? Well knowing a little more detail these "WITNESSES" are the friends of the first young man that was arrested. YES there were 2 young men arrested. These "WITNESSES" where close friends for the second gentleman that was first arrested. So before we judge. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! :)
