No license ??!! Why the heck was she behind the wheel ? Give her a couple of hundred hours of community service, picking up trash on the roadways. Would hate to be her insurance agent...or Daddy's.

To all those idiots Texting while driving...

To bad it had to happen to an innocent person in a parked car.

It should have happened to the driver, and involved a wall or a freight train.

I for 1 am tired of missing stop light because some idiot is still Texting after the light turned green. Or the idiots driving down the road with the smart phone on the steering wheel texting and drifting into the other lanes.

To those idiots with smart phones.
There is an voice to Text App for that .

As far as Punishment
She should pay all medical bills resulting from her stupidity.

Be tried in court of felony assault with a motor vehicle.

Service 1 year in prison.

Have her license pulled 2+ years and have to use a Bike.

Be prohibited owning a cell phone for 2 years.

The court should require her there after to purchase A dumb phone without a texting plan for 5 years.

Please send a STRONG Message to these electronic addicts.

They just don't care

especially at that age! I still see it daily, texting and chatting it up on the cell's. Then if you get annoyed, you're the one getting dirty looks.

“They” say that talking on

“They” say that talking on the cell phone while driving is equivalent to a DUI. People are ready to throw, DUI’ers that cause loss of life, to the short line.

I know that almost every single time I observe someone driving like an idiot, they’ve got a phone stuck to their ear.

Just saying.

I agree, impaired driving is impaired driving. It doesn't matter whether someone is killed by a driver using a phone, a mother fussing with kids in the back seat, or a drunk. They are just as dead as a result of choices the driver made.

Now here is a "ban" they

Now here is a "ban" they could easily implement without infringing on anyone's constitutional rights and would save more lives than any ban on magazine fed weapons.

All cellphones and/or portable devices that include a GPS should have a firmware update applied that prevents the reading or sending of text messages or emails when the device is in motion over 4 mph.

Or at a minimum have an app

Or at a minimum have an app that allows parents to activate a block on usage while in motion. Phone talkers are frustrating as all get out, but texting is downright deadly. This girl is 22, but it would help tremendously to cut out texting and phoning among those 18 and younger. My guess is though, a lot of parents would relent and not utilize the technology.

Cut out texting and phoning

for a certain age group??? What about the rest of those idiots that don't seem to realize how utterly dangerous they are!! Even using only one hand to take a corner and holding the phone with the other, THAT in itself is a dangerous weapon - Fort Gordon has a marvelous law - don't talk on the cellphone while driving inside the compound. VERY intelligent decision - and it is being observed. Can't there be a law like that OUTSIDE of Fort Gordon? And then slap a fine on the user that makes his/her eyes water!!!

Set Foot On Ft. Gordon

is entering into a different world when it come to obeying the Law.

Speed signs say "Speed Limit 25". That is exactly what it means!
No cellphone usage when driving. That is exactly what it means!
Use of seat belts required. That is exactly what it means!
Signs saying, "STOP" That is exactly what it means!

Outside the gate should use the same set of laws.

imagine a female texting or talking on a cell phone while "driving"? I believe NOW bestowed that right on them as retaliation for their hatred of men.
