A 25-year-old Augusta man had to be subdued with a pepper spray after resisting arrest for suspected driving under the influence Tuesday.
According to an incident report, deputies were attempting to arrest Christian Dion Brown on the 2900 block of Washington Road around 2:30 a.m. New Year’s Day when he began to jerk his hands away and push the officer.
After being sprayed, Brown continued to resist and had to be taken to the ground where he attempted to hide his hands. After being handcuffed, deputies washed Brown’s face and transported him to Richmond County Jail.
He faces charges of driving under the influence, expired tag and misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
