Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Leisey said Daniel Broome, 23, left Cuz’s Place, 1979 Tobacco Road, early Saturday to avoid the fight. However, Charles Ralston Smith Jr., 31, of Hephzibah, chased after Broome in a Chevrolet Silverado and hit him, according to authorities.

Police said they are unsure if Broome was run over or just struck by the truck. Smith was booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of aggravated assault.

Shane Andrews, 23, of Augusta, was charged with affray. Police said Andrews was involved in the fight at the bar but was not involved in the aggravated assault.

A real prince

But I'll bet his peeps think he's a good guy who would give you the shirt off his back.

Hard time and lots of it.

Yeah, gargoyle, you're right.

But mostly it hurts other people.

I call for an immediate ban

I call for an immediate ban on Chevy Silverados.

Smith needs to do a little hard time, lose his license for 5 years or so, be banned from drinking as a condition of parole, and have to pay medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering to Broome.

Moral of the story

Trucks are faster than feet.

But right about now,
"1 call will solve it all" and you own it all.

Hey,

hold my beer while I fight this other drunk fella. What's the worst that could happen. (oh, wait, that second sentence never came up!)
