Aiken County sheriff’s deputies continue their search for an armed man who entered a home on Daley Drive in Warrenville this morning.

Capt. Troy Elwell said a woman at the residence notified police after she discovered a white man, wearing all black, in the home. The woman told investigators he pointed a handgun before fleeing.

Elwell said it appears the burglar was unaware the home was occupied.

Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle and Jefferson Elementary schools were put on lockdown for several hours as a precaution while deputies searched the area. Elwell said the lockdown has been lifted but deputies remain in the area.
