Police are searching for two men who robbed the Waffle House off Tobacco Road on Thursday morning.
Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Blaise Dresser said the men – one of whom was armed – entered the restaurant at 103 Talbot Drive about 2 a.m. and demanded money.
The armed man fired a shot into a padlocked door of an office in the restaurant in an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry, police said.
The men ran away with money from the cash register.
Too bad that shot into the lock didn't ricochet back into his pea brain.
They should be scattered, smothered and covered.
Oh good, another ethnic group of males in South Augusta I have to keep an eye on in a non-prejudgemental politically correct manner. I have to reach for my back pocket so often out here people are going to think I have an itchy butt.

...a sense of entitlement and instant gratification. People aren't robbing places because they are hungry. They are robbing places because they are greedy. They want money to feed their desires, be it a desire for certain substances or a desire for stuff.
Why do people rob Waffle houses and convienence stores. You could go to jail for many years all for 30 bucks in loot. I'm not saying to the criminals they should rob a bank but if you're going to go to jail for life you might as well go for the big bucks.

I think the real problem is that the poor don't think there are other options other than crime due to lack of education, job opportunities and hope. So the options are handouts and the "easy way" to money through crime and other bad choices...
Until the network to overcome poverty is made more evident through education, there may be more hope so that the chances to choose better paths are more appealing.. I know some won't make the right choices either way, but it's better to light a candle than curse the darknes

I had to sit and stare at this statement for awhile. The poor have so many opportunities to get educated for free from cradle through college it is not even funny. If they refuse to take the opportunity handed to them on a silver platter..it is their fault.
With that education they would get job opportunities and also hope for a brighter future.

Okay, I think I didn't get my point completely across. I'm not syaing there aren't already opportunities out there. I also know that some see opportunity and go the other way due to lack of knowledge and vision.
For the previous commenters that overcame their situations to be successful, I applaud you. But I know on that journey there were those around you that could not see the procces you were taking yourselves through and tried to pull you back down or discourage you.
There were others on the path with you that ran into obstacle and didn't make it. But there are still others outh there who have no IDEA OR CONCEPT that they can acheive. Those that were poor in mind or spirit and didn't have the opportunity or mentor to get attempt to experience the American Dream.
Now some of the comments that imply "if you didn't make it it's your fault" I can partially agree with. But I can say that some may have forgotten what it takes to go through and forgotten those who may need an opportunity or a second chance to see the success that you enjoy.

What's most distressing to me since coming to the CSRA is this profession of Christian ideals I've seen throughout the area, but the lack of the presence of the Church in affecting change where it's need most: In the poorer crime-ridden areas that need to know and see the true evidence of the Christ through His followers.
Is " I got mine the "right" way, so tough luck to those who didn't" an attitude that can affect positive change or a way to display the Christian ideal?
Charging Drug Dealers as co-conspirators for any crime their customers commits. Remember, Drugs have DNA signatures also.
BEAUTIFUL IDEA!!!!!! Drug dealers are the true vampires in our society and should be fully accountable for the consequences of their selfishness.

Corporal punishment has been removed from the schools, Christ has been removed from schools, what would have been considered pornagraphy 10 years ago is now on ABC Family every night. Children are not taught the value of life or that there are consequences for their actions...mainly because there are NO CONSEQUENCES for their actions any more. Everyone has a right to say anything, anywhere and at anytime they wish as long as God is not involved. It's only going to get worse people!
