Monique Sullivan, 35, was in fair condition Tuesday night at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, but was refusing to work with police, Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said.
The investigation into Monday’s wreck will continue with toxicology tests and work at the crash site, he said.
Amelia Hiltz, 32, was in the same lane as Sullivan and tried to veer right before being hit by Sullivan’s 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban then hit a car driven by Kevin Mollenhauer, 25, who was in the other lane. Mollenhauer’s car slammed into Hiltz’s, causing most of the damage, said Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Randy Prickett.
Sullivan’s SUV flipped and hit another car driven by Augusta lawyer Maureen Floyd, 52.
Hiltz, 32, was still in critical condition Tuesday evening, Floyd was serious and Sullivan’s husband was fair, a hospital spokeswoman said.
