Richmond County investigators have made a third arrest in connection with the slaying of a Hephzibah man.
Larry Lawson Norton Jr., of the 3600 block of Hopson Mill Road in Blythe, was arrested and charged with murder and theft by taking of a motor vehicle, Lt. Blaise Dresser said.
On Wednesday, investigators found Michael T. Wickert’s body at a home on Keron Way. Autopsy results revealed that Wickert, 48, died from blunt force and stabbing injuries.
Two people who lived with Wickert – Leslie Blair, 41, and Joseph Leon-Guerrero, 33, – were arrested late Wednesday on charges of murder, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and theft of a motor vehicle.
Investigators continue to search for Wickert’s white 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 IROC, which was missing from the scene.
“It’s a key piece of evidence,” Dresser said. “We need it and want it.”
No motive has been made public.
Dresser said he believes the car could be in either Richmond or Burke counties.
Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to call the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1080.
