GREENWOOD, S.C. — Greenwood County sheriff’s deputies say a woman has been found shot to death in her burning home.

Authorities say firefighters found the body of 46-year-old Lisa Merritt around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators say Merritt was not severely burned by the fire, which started in a bedroom. An autopsy has been scheduled to confirm the cause of death.

Deputies are questioning Merritt’s husband.
