An Augusta man came home to find his house trashed by burglars who stole a football autographed by John Elway, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

Brett Langham, of Clark Drive, called police about 3 p.m. Sunday and told them he had come home from a weekend away to find the screen missing from one of his windows.

Inside, he found eggs on the floor and shotgun shells that had been cut open, the report said. Langham’s athletic trophies also were broken and the pieces scattered about.

Along with the Elway football, the burglars also took his leaf blower.
