A man refused to cooperate with authorities after being shot in both legs and hit by a car, a Richmond County Sheriff’s report said.

At 1:45 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the Pac-N-Go at 1649 Olive Road to investigate gunshots. When deputies arrived, they found Cordero Morrell Dagget, 23, laying on the ground with two wounds and signs that he had been hit by a vehicle.

The report said Dagget refused to answer questions from authorities. The report doesn’t indicate whether he was taken to a hospital.

Who or what are people afraid

Who or what are people afraid of to refuse to talk to authorities after being shot and ran over? Seems to happen daily.

"Snitchin"

They don't want to "snitch" on other dopers. That's the "street code." They'll "retaliate" down the road.

Same Comment as Yesterday

Yesterday was a woman shot on Shirley Ave who refused to press charges. Today a man shot then run over by a car, yet will not press charges. Again, B on B crime, and it seems to be taking a pattern. Roundtree can't take office too soon for me, because I want to see this stuff stopped. Or on second thought, the perps talked to and put in a social program to help them, cause they are good kids. Who knows, these may be the first candidates for the Volunteer Force, since it seems they are already proficient with firearms.

Just Obama voters being what they are, nothing new here. This is the type of world they voluntarily choose to live in. Says alot about them and just how evolved they are.

Is today pay back for yesterday?

Or, is it just a serial shooter with a fetish for shooting people in the legs?

The not wanting to press charges part and close proximity to the other leg shooting, has me leaning to a vendetta style pay back. The use of a car is icing to the cake, since it is something a female is many more times likely to do than a male (check the statistics yourself).

I'd be interviewing people, I interviewed the night before for different reasons. Just make sure there is no relationship between the 2 incidents.

Either way the shooter(s) needs to be stopped before someone is killed.

Otherwise the next location could be a AT Bus Stop, or inside a local area department store.

If @ When the Shooter(s) Are Arrested

An AC published RAP Sheet would be an interesting read.
Just to see IF any, or how many, 2nd PLUS chances the shooter(s) had been given, when, where and what for.

As for the Victim....
He has a nice photo that Google pulled up here in Augusta GA.

I Hope for Turn Around too

I hope someone can turn this around but you can bet good kids does not apply when they will not help the police find who hurt them. Of course I never know what is crazier the ones who will not turn those in who hurt them or the girl 2 weeks ago that called the police to report someone stealing her crack she was selling!!!

Culture

What's the matter with you people? Don't you embrace the diversity of culture? These people are "doing their thing"! Leave them alone!

What would a new Sheriff do?
Unpublished

What would a new Sheriff do? You have to ask, what has been done so far and does it work? Would it make sense to find these people and lock them up in the county jail for a couple of years? That seems to work so well, right?

It's time to step up our game with both the prevention and the punishment.

1. end all handouts
2. get cops patrolling bad neighborhoods around the clock
3. death sentences

"Again, B on B crime, and it seems to be taking a pattern. Roundtree can't take office too soon for me, because I want to see this stuff stopped."

Nothing against Mr. Roundtree (I wish him well as the new sheriff); but, Black on Black crime is an issue that has been going on for generations. It would seem from the way the article is written, that this "may" be some sort of drug related retaliation; it's the same old "we're sending you a message" scenario.

My "REAL" issue with statements like yours; is that when it is B on B, it gets your attention and is a tragedy. But, I have NEVER read a post where a B got that upset when it was B on W. Either violent crime is a tragedy for all, or it is NO tragedy at all.............it is like years ago, in the 80's, there was a campaign going around; lots of minority people were driving around with bumper stickers on their cars that said "STOP Black on Black Crime". To "me" (personally), that was offensive; not because I don't care about blacks, but because those who started and supported the campaign did not classify violent crime simply as violent crime. It appeared that it was only serious when it was B on B.

The Black, or African-American population constantly stress the issue of race equality and yet they practice separation constantly. Read the AC this week, where they put on events called "100 Black men or 100 Black women, etc. If a white group, organized and put on events, with the title designating that it was a WHITE event, all h*** would break loose over the "racism"

If the black community will ever understand that in reality MOST people (of both races) have way too many more important things to do than worry about the race card. We are losing jobs left and right, health care costs are going out the roof, gas prices are killing us, and life, in general is just too short to worry about people with a chip on their shoulder.

YES, B on B is a terrible tragedy, but I only want people to look at violent crime as what it is,......violent crime. I don't care who commits the crime, or which race it is against..........it is wrong and needs to be dealt with.

Understand that these are just my opinions as I view the situations around us.

What is the mayor doing about

What is the mayor doing about the destruction of Augusta? Why do we still enable this behavior? Eliminate the acceptance of handouts in Augusta and these types of people will go elsewhere. Start enforcing harsh punishments for all crimes and those that are left will quickly get the point.

Can you say "diversity" and "these people" in the same comment? I really liked the comment but if I had done it someone would have flagged me for being "insensitive." LOL!

Okay, if he doesn't want the

Okay, if he doesn't want the police's help, then let him alone. And I do mean LEAVE HIM ALONE, as in just let him lay there on the ground bleeding from the gunshot wounds and being hit by a car! Why should we invest time and energy in helping this punk and he won't cooperate? No, I don't mean to sound cold and heartless, and to help potentiate the "animalistic" society that is emerging....but this guy is one of the problems that is creating this "animalistic" society. Wonder how long he'll be laying there on the ground before he realizes that none of his other "friends" will even help stop his bleeding because THEY are also afraid of retaliation??

Sarcasm

Is hard to spot in the written word and without inflection. The "he's a good kid" was designed to be tongue in cheek and patterned after the comments on Alfaigo Davis who was shot and killed trying to run over two deputies in Apple Valley. Like explaining the punchline of a joke, it loses effectiveness second time around. Apologies for not doing a better job. Or maybe this form of making a point is foreign to some on this board.
