Late Thursday afternoon, McDuffie County sheriff’s deputies had a remote stretch of Marshall Church Road blocked off for hours. County Coroner Rusha Mack was called to the scene along with a wrecker service.
A Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime scene specialist, deputies and the coroner were seen in a wooded area that runs parallel to Interstate 20. After more than an hour on the scene, the wrecker pulled out a late model Chevrolet truck from the woods.
Sheriff Logan Marshall reported that there was a homicide, but no other details were released.
