Suspect in Aiken County bank robberies surrenders

An Aiken County bank robbery suspect has surrendered to authorities, the Aiken Department of Public Safety said Saturday.

Clarence Junior Green, 32, was arrested late Friday night. Green contacted the West Columbia Police Department after learning of the two Aiken Department of Public Safety charges for bank robbery, according to a news release.

Green surrendered to officers at a West Columbia, S.C., motel and is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.

Aiken Public Safety investigators identified and issued warrants for Green on Friday, charging him with two counts of bank robbery for Sept. 21 and Nov. 13 holdups of the South Carolina State Credit Union, 210 Beaufort St.
