Police were called to BP at 3011 Washington Road about 9:30 p.m. after the panic alarm was activated. Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Carrier said a black man in a gray hoodie and jeans entered, placed a plastic bag on the counter and said, “You know what this is. You know what to do.”
The clerk pressed the panic alarm, and the man fled. A weapon was never displayed.
Carrier said the man’s actions matched those in the earlier successful holdup.
