The victim of a fatal shooting Wednesday in Aiken has been identified as Thomas Octavian Johnson, 27.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Johnson, who was shot several times, was pronounced dead at Medical College of Georgia Hospital early Wednesday.

Morris Dorch, 25, who was not injured, told police they had been driving near Balltown Drive and Jack Jones Street when one or two people walked toward their vehicle and fired several shots.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting, which Capt. Troy Elwell said was possibly drug-related.
