Police are still searching for the gunman who shot a man in the shoulder on Hicks Street on Friday night.

Nicholas Maurice Burney, 34, was shot on his front porch in the 1700 block just after 9 p.m., a Richmond County sheriff’s report said.

Burney told police two people were hiding next to a house across the street from his. When they approached with a gun, Burney told his kids to go inside, the report said.

The man fired two shots at him, one of which struck him in the right shoulder.

Investigators said the wound was not life-threatening. The shooter was described as a black man in his 50s with a slim build wearing an old gray hat and dark coveralls.
