McTony King Jr., 50, of Second Avenue, was charged with terroristic threats Monday afternoon.
On Oct. 23, King called WRDW-TV News 12 in North Augusta and asked an employee to do a story about his wife’s “wrongful arrest.” She was recently arrested for disorderly conduct–family violence for an incident where King was the victim and the one who reported the incident to police, Grovetown Department of Public Safety Investigator Rep Whiddon said.
King told the employee that “his wife had attempted suicide,” Whiddon said. “At no time was that ever brought up (previously).”
When the employee said the station wouldn’t investigate his complaint, King got angry. He threatened to blow up the Grovetown Department of Public Safety and the television station.
“When they said there is nothing they can do, that’s when he blew up,” Whiddon said. “It was just threats.”
King is in the Columbia County Detention Center on a $2,600 bond, according to jailers.
