Two brothers were arrested Friday morning in connection with four armed robberies in which the victims were followed from Walmarts after cashing checks, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Kelvin and Calvin Thomas, of the 3600 block of Quail Hollow Drive, are charged with four counts of armed robbery, stemming from incidents that occurred Sept. 19 and Oct. 1, 7, and 20, the release said.

The robberies occurred after the victims had cashed checks at Walmarts on Deans Bridge Road and Knox Avenue in North Augusta. The robbers drove a black Dodge Caravan in each incident, police said.

At the time of their arrest, deputies found marijuana plants around the men’s home, police said. Calvin Thomas was also charged with the felony manufacture of marijuana, Dresser said.

Were these the same guys that robbed the lady in North Augusta at Kroger? There was a dark colored minivan involved in that robbery also according to reports.

Four armed robberies and

Four armed robberies and growing dope. Just go ahead and give them about 40 years in the state pen to begin with and we can skip another 5 or 10 arrests and probation over the next few years until they finally kill somebody. Lock them up NOW and for a LONG time.

Allz they need is a second chance

I bet their Momma describes them as "good boys" who just need someone to love them.

Creative names for brothers...Kelvin and Calvin. But to borrow Momma's minivan to commit crimes, well, that just ain't right!

Father Time is right and all the more need to vote Freddie Sanders.

Watch this video to see how Freddie will prevent crime and arrest criminals.

Always always be aware of a car following you -----this happens a lot.....from grocery stores--shopping centers.....older folks are easy prey.

Disarming the cops

“I’m telling you these young men, as bad as they want to be in law enforcement and as good as they are, they need to go back and understand that they are peace officers,” Sanders said. “They don’t need to go out there thinking with a mind set they are going to get in some armed confrontation and that they are going to need 60 rounds of ammunition.”

Sorry Freddie but this is 2012 and not the 1980s.

Seenitb4 - wise words

"Always always be aware of a car following you..."

A simple 2 - 3 min. deviation of travel route will quickly clue you in. We used random all lefts or rights (a wide circle) to see if a car followed. My wife even uses the process now.

Around Christmas this very important with the number burglaries that occur within days of a NEW large Item purchases.

Lilly, the answer to your question is that 28.2 percent of all robberies recorded by law enofrcement agencies are cleared, primarily by arrest(2010 Uniform Crime Report). Of course, many are not even reported. So, it seems that getting away with it is much more likely than being caught.

Grandpa Jones

So from a 1 hour, 2 minutes and 22 second interview you parsed out these 66 words, not even contiguous and out of context, to encapsulate who Freddie Sanders is and what his Sheriff's term would be. I shall crown you Mr. Objectivity for your fair and unbiased excerptation from Freddie Sanders interview with the Augusta Chronicle editorial staff. NOT!! Is that you, Grateful Mother?

I invite other viewers of this post from Grandpa Jones to view the video then vote thumbs up or thumbs down on Grandpa Jones' post.

Shameful, just shameful

Young criminals are still

Young criminals are still criminals. It's fine to have intervention programs to try to prevent people from committing crimes, but once the line is crossed they need to be prosecuted with enthusiasm.
As for the ammunition issue, if it was me, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
You're right Grandpa Jones, it is 2012 and more dangerous now than it has ever been. The lack of respect for law, life and liberty is at an all time high. If I could, I would carry a bazooka, with extra rounds. It is what it is.
