Sharonika Wesby Wimberly, 34, was arrested after Richmond County investigators were called to Richmond Academy by school authorities. They said Wimberly’s 15-year-old daughter had told them her mother beat her with a broom handle after she had overused her cell phone, sheriff’s Lt. Blaise Dresser said.

The teen was taken to a hospital, where she was diagnosed with deep tissue bruising on her arms, Dresser said.

Wimberly was booked into the Richmond County jail Monday night.

Dresser said Wimberly is in charge of Richmond, Columbia and Burke counties for DFCS.

Hold Your Horses!

Before anyone posts defaming comments and taunts the irony of this situation, please remember there's more to this story then we know. Just listen and see what unfolds.

The very job

The very job shes hired to do and investigate. Now the tables turn and hopefully she'll see what is like to be on the other side of the desk.

"Theres more to this

"Theres more to this accusation??" "Wait till all the facts come out before you jump to conclusions?" Well now this woman, IF shes innocent, knows what its like to be falsely accused and put in the media in such a horrible way! There ARE bad people out there, but there are also innocent people who get falsely accused of abuse because of revenge, custody battles, etc. Maybe this will be a wake up call to this woman to not let an innocent person thru her line of work be persecuted before ALL THE FACTS COME OUT!! Its happening WAY TOO MUCH.

Wow!

She works for a place where they help abused children and now she gets busted for this? That's like hiring a cop who has a criminal record.

Yes we have the freedom to post our opinions and speculate about what happened but I agree the earlier post-only a limited information is ever shared on these websites, so keep that in mind when jumping to any conclusion, even if it turns out you were right in your conclusion...when it concludes!

consequence

If Ms.Wimberly admits to this 'angry rage' that resulted in a beating of her child she should be summarily dismissed from her employment with DFAC, period. Swift action here will send a message to other workers in DFAC.

NOT ''SURPRISED''

Georgia has the worst rating for child Protective services. It's a shame but true. I hope they follow up and do everything by the book. Kids can be some real terriors at times; But if anybody knew where to go to get help ; it should have been this LADY. I raised a Son that was the middle child in the home. And he was in a Two year zone. Name it he ''Did'' it. And I never Abused him. Believe me he was far worse then this little girl could ever be. There is No excuse for a Broom beating!! Take the phone. You do not beat a young lady of 15 with a Broom stick. Where is that right at?? In Prison??
