Richmond County authorities looking for debit card crook

Police are asking for assistance in finding a man accused of withdrawing money from a teenager's bank account after obtaining her debit card.

Police are asking for assistance in finding a man who has been withdrawing money from a teenager’s bank account after obtaining her debit card.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s incident report, the Hephzibah girl, 17, notified police Oct. 9 after she realized her debit card was missing from her purse.

Investigator Dan Ferrel said the card had been used twice – on Sept. 29 and again on Oct. 3 – at a Sprint ATM on Windsor Spring Road to withdraw more than $300.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1020.
