Two cases receive murder indictments

Two men were indicted this week on charges of murder in connection with a July 5 shoot-out at Alter Ego’z that killed a bystander.

Marcus Washington and Devin Washington, two Beech Island men who are not related, shot at each other outside the Gordon Highway nightclub and killed Pr’Shawn Williams, investigators said.

The suspects were indicted on charges of malice murder, felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Also this week, a grand jury indicted Harvey James Mitchell, 31, on charges of malice murder, felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Investigators said he stormed into his apartment on Richmond Hill Road West and shot his wife, Keya Mitchell, 34, about 1 a.m. Aug. 18.
