A preliminary autopsy was performed Saturday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Augusta. Authorities say Robin Adams Jr., whose body was found at the 4279 James Drive home where his mother and sister were living, could have died as long ago as February.
The coroner’s office plans to subpoena Adams’ medical and dental records this week for a positive ID and to shed light on the cause of death. McDonald said a specialist was brought in, but Adams’ remains might be sent to Atlanta for more tests.
Adams’ mother, Angela Mercer, 43, and his sister, Deaidra Motley, 18, were charged Friday with concealing the death of a person, according to an e-mail from Sgt. Dan Carrier. He said more charges are pending the results of the autopsy.
