A Skinner Road man recovered weapons stolen from a burglary of his home the day before.

The man told deputies he was alerted Sunday by neighbors who found a pillowcase containing two rifles and four shotguns in his front yard near the road.

Police had been called to the home around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to an incident report, a Georgia Power employee who had been sent to the home to check on the electric meter found the side door open and alerted police. The employee told deputies that the company had received a signal that the meter had been damaged.

The homeowner reported the six guns as stolen during the burglary. Police returned them to the resident.
