Bandits wearing white masks could be linked to Sunday morning robberies

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is trying to determine whether three similar armed robberies Sunday morning are related.

In each of the incidents the robbers were wearing white masks and all black clothing.

Two men were robbed in the 3000 block of Skinner Mill Road just before 1 a.m. while standing outside their apartment complex. They told deputies that three men – two in white masks and one in a mask similar to that in the movie Scream – approached with guns and demanded they get on the ground and hand over their belongings.

The bandits fled with wallets and one of the victim’s pants and shoes.

An hour later, deputies were called to Fox Trace Drive, where two men were approached by three people in white masks while sitting outside their residence. The robbers demanded that the victims lie on the ground and then took their money and car keys.

One victim told deputies a suspect attempted to unlock his 2000 Lincoln but fled after setting off the alarm.

At 3:30 a.m. deputies were called to the third robbery on the 2600 block of Thomas Lane.

The seven victims told deputies they were in the apartment complex parking lot when they were approached by three men in white masks who demanded they remove their pants.

The bandits took their belongings, hit a victim across the face with a handgun and fled on foot.
