Area counties have canceled a lookout for a red pickup reportedly used in thefts after Burke County deputies captured a suspect Thursday evening.

According to a news release, the driver was identified as Wayne Darnell Coleman, 47.

Police said the 2001 Ford F-150 crew cab pickup matched the description of the vehicle used in thefts in Jenkins, Burke and Jefferson counties.

After a traffic stop Thursday, deputies discovered a 16-by-18 foot trailer that had been reported stolen from Anderson General Store in Statesboro, Ga. Police said Coleman and his pickup were caught on video stealing a trailer from a business in Burke County in June. He is also a suspect in Monday’s theft of a trailer and lawn mover from Millen, Ga., and that of a concrete mixer from Jefferson County about a year ago.

Wonderful!

Great to hear that a suspect has been caught in the Burke County thefts, etc. Hope the rash of burglaries in the last few days in Richmond County gets solved quickly, too.
