Two Augusta residents were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine Friday morning after police responded to a suspicious vehicle parked in the median on Sand Bar Ferry Road.

Officers found the two suspects in the vehicle around 2 a.m. in the 700 block of Sand Bar Ferry Road. According to a police report, the driver, Paul Stephen Posey, 40, threw a plastic bottle filled with liquid onto the median while an officer investigated.

Another plastic bottle with contents similar to those used in the manufacture of meth also was recovered.

Posey and his passenger, Christy Reynolds Peeples, 30, were booked into the Richmond County jail on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine. Peeples also had an outstanding warrant.

Plastic bottles

Folks, PLEASE pay close attention to this. Use extreme caution when picking up empty bottles from your yard or street! Do a Google search on "meth" and "plastic bottles" to learn more about the dangers involving these bottles if used to make meth. The bottles can explode causing serious burns and even death.

That stuff is pure poison.

That stuff is pure poison. Anybody that makes it, or uses it, is certifiable crazy. Speed kills.
