SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Police in Summerville are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in a car at a gasoline station.

The body was found Sunday after a man created a disturbance at the station.

Capt. Jon Rogers says officers were called to the station around 7:30 a.m. to deal with a man who appeared to be intoxicated.

Police discovered the man was wanted in another state for an outstanding warrant. Rogers would not elaborate about that. The man’s name was not released.

Police also noticed the man had blood on his clothes. Rogers says officers found a woman’s body under a blanket in the car.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury says he has identified the woman and is working to notify her family.
