Boy charged with touching Lakeside Middle classmates

  • Follow Crime & courts

A Lakeside Middle School pupil accused last week of sexually assaulting classmates was charged Tuesday.

The 13-year-old boy was charged with sexual battery, according to Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

The resource officer for the Martinez school called deputies Thursday morning after four 12-year-old girls complained that the boy made “uninvited contact with their intimate body parts,” according to a sheriff’s office report.

The girls said the boy slapped or poked at them with his hands.

The case has been turned over to the Columbia County Juvenile Court for further prosecution, Morris said.

County school Superintendent Charles Nagle said the boy is being sent to the school system’s hearing officer with a recommendation for long-term suspension.

Two of the girls involved also will face a disciplinary hearing because witnesses saw them touch the boy inappropriately, Nagle said.

Another Lakeside Middle boy is being sent to the tribunal in a separate case for similar acts, but on a second offense, Nagle said. No charges have been filed in that case.

So which is it?

"Two of the girls involved also will face a disciplinary hearing because witnesses saw them touch the boy inappropriately, Nagle said."

It being Columbia County, those two girls are most likely the ones whose parents didn't think victims need lawyers -- or friends in high places. If you think it's a mess now, wait until our senility role model of a judge mucks it up.

Im gonna start by saying

Im gonna start by saying this. I know this chil personally and i know how the school and media is portraying him is not right. You have a case of some girls that smile in these boys face and touch them in their intimate body parts and when these boys react to them they running and telling their parents. Its not fair to the child being accused of the crime. They wont hear him out at all and he is telling the truth. What are yall going to do about the two girls that touched his intimated body parts and are yall going to look back at the cameras to see if any of this is true. I think they are trying to make an example out of this kid cause they gave the boys involved in the CGR case a slap on the risk. These two cases are not even the same.

This child is was being

This child is was being picked on by the kids on the football team and by other classmates. This child is a loving, caring, and respectable kid. He was happy about the making the football. He is not by any chance the person the media and these girls are making him out to be. Before anyone can make a comment you need to know the facts about the case.

The Parents Should've Handled This!

The case has been turned over to the Columbia County Juvenile Court for further PROSECUTION, Morris said.

I've known this child all his life and for him to be standing accused of sexual battery is ridiculous. There is so much injustice in society today. WJBF aired a story on 21 Feb 2012, about a group of kids at this same school that calls themselves the "Charlie Rape Gang". This group of male students would grab their fellow classmates and pin them against the wall and pretend to RAPE them. The child accused of slapping girls on the butt is being charged with sexual battery, when the "CRG" members were given a two day suspension! I watched this news story and in my opinion the prinicipal should be ashamed. I applaud her for wanting to protect the students but where is the common sense in this matter?

Two of the girls involved also will face a disciplinary hearing because witnesses saw them touch the boy inappropriately, Nagle said.

Another Lakeside Middle boy is being sent to the tribunal in a separate case for similar acts, but on a second offense, Nagle said. No charges have been filed in that case.

Something just doesn't seem right. These two girls who were identified as touching the accused inappropriately is NOT being charged with sexual battery. I'm sure what these girls did was unwanted by this child. As for the other boy facing his second offense; NO charges have been filed.

What is the world coming to when something that should have been handled between the parents of these children gets pushed through the jusidicial system and ruin a child's life for no reason at all. All the while a blind eye gets turned to the more serious offenders.
