A home invasion suspect has been arrested after nearly a year on the run from deputies.

Authorities had been searching for Kevin Avareze DeLoach, 24, since the invasion at a Hephzibah apartment complex last Sept. 23.

Police said two armed men approached a 27-year-old resident outside his apartment in the 3500 block of Woodlake Road around noon demanding money. The men entered the residence and searched through the apartment while keeping their guns aimed at the resident and a 32-year-old woman in the living room.

The intruders fled with 10 pairs of sneakers valued at $2,000 and a cellphone.

One of the suspects, Fredrick Hall, 24, was captured by officers in April, but DeLoach continued to avoid capture.

DeLoach was found in Barton Village on Wednesday after investigators received an anonymous tip on his whereabouts.

He has been booked on charges of armed robbery, burglary, two counts of false imprisonment, theft by receiving, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

We need a middle georgia working farm that these types can be incarcerated on. Out in the middle of no where and structured to instruct these young men on living in a civilized society. You can't get out until you show 'social adaptation' and an ability to work, period !

What does that mean? What does education instead of incarceration mean. I am perplexed, confused and need enlightenment.

Mr. Deloach is 24 years old, for cripes sake. He could have done high school twice, but would his choice to rob at gunpoint been any different.

Please, clarify the meaning of your comment. Inquiring minds want to know.

The intruders fled with 10 pairs of sneakers valued at $2,000 and a cellphone. I hope they give him a year for every pair of sneakers and another 3 for the cell phone. By the time Lil Wayne gets out of prison he'll never want to look at another pair of sneakers or cell phone again. Glad they caught this dummy.

patty-p, thee are so many opportunities for education just because its there you can't make them learn...you know the ole phrase "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink"...well the same for this waste of a human life....he is just another of barry's children-"dreds and tatts-one between his eyes what employer in his right mind would give someone a job who uses judgement to put a tattoo right between his eyes....what needs to be there the next time he tries to rob someone is a .45 cal bullet..product of a single parent home, mom in "da Club" her "baby daddie" no where to be found, no job skills, little education waiting for her check and he is the end result, it's time for a 3 strikes law, build more and more/bigger and bigger prisons and send them away until they are dead or no longer a threat...which ever comes first.

Dang

And they say women have a lot of shoes. That is $200 for each of those sneakers. None of my tennis shoes cost that much, actually not even near that much.

I think it was nice of him to put a target there between his eyes for folks to aim at..makes it easier :)
