Second arrest made in Blackville, S.C., shooting

The Blackville, S.C., Police Department arrested a second suspect in Monday’s fatal shooting of a 65-year-old man and charged him with one count of murder.

Authorities arrested Tracy Maurice Davis, 28, of Jones Bridge Road in Blackville on Wednesday after spotting him in a vehicle in the parking lot of Quick Pantry on Dexter street, Chief John Holston said in a news release.

On Monday, police were called to the 100 block of Davis Road, where they found Leon Brown, of Columbia, with a gunshot wound to the torso. He died at Barnwell County Hospital.

Witnesses said Brown was visiting the home when two people – one armed with a handgun – entered and took items from Brown. He tried to chase the suspects, and shots were fired.

Police arrested Arbre Bernard Robinson, 29, of Veter­ans Road in Williston, S.C., on Tuesday and charged him with murder in the shooting. At the time authorities were searching for Davis, who Holston said is known to have gang affiliations with Folk Nation in South Carolina.

Davis is being held in the Barnwell County Detention Center awaiting bond, according to the news release.
