One person was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Cherry Tree Crossing Monday morning.

Officers were initially called to the scene in the 1500 block of McCauley Street about 11:40 a.m. after it was reported someone had been shot.

Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Vinson said, after taking conflicting statements from witnesses, it appears someone was shooting in the area and a fight broke out, which resulted in a vehicle hitting someone.

The victim was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he is being treated for leg injuries.

Sad

There was a shooting, THEN a fight broke out? Someone needs to explain that you run AWAY from gunfire.

Ah, but not in the CBD

Crime in the CBD has dropped significantly since First Friday last. Who manages Cooney Circle on Olive Rd? We don't hear much from that area?

Shocked, just shocked

when I hear of a fight and gunshots in Cherry Tree Crossing, I almost completely dispair. To think this could happen in such a nice neighborhood, is just discouraging. I thought they used cars to kill in that neighborhood, not guns. Price of gas must be taking it's toll. I can see the headline..."Gas prices rise due to Hurricane Isaac, Women, Children and Minorities hurt most"

Taxpayers (men only) should ride through sometime

But be very careful. Don't stop and keep your doors locked. You deserve to see where your hard earned dollars go.

That place has always been trouble and its sad a police presents was'nt in sight. I guess with the election, ASU name change, and football season it got over looked.
