Man in wheelchair robbed on Ellis Street

  • Follow Crime & courts

A man in a wheelchair was robbed Thursday on the 1200 block of Ellis Street.

Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Robert Lewis Harden, 69, was approached by three men that grabbed him from behind around his shoulders, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s incident report.

The men held down Harden in his wheelchair and stole $60 cash, 60 pills of pain medicine and 60 pills of prostate medicine from the back bag that was hanging on the back of his wheelchair. Harden was not injured.

I'm sure these 3 "men" feel that they've done something good by NOT hurting this defenseless man.

That is the CBD.

Weak reporting. Sometime during a four hour period? May have been homeless veteran with all of his possessions?

Yep,

Yep, there's a special place for people like that. It takes a "real man" to gang up and rob someone in a wheelchair.

@Cheapster505: The timespan

@Cheapster505: The timespan doesn't mean that that's how long it lasted, it means that the victim and authorities aren't sure exactly what time it happened, but it was between 10am and 2pm.

maybe it is just me...

the time span does make a difference and did anyone see this? There could be something "happening" with this 69 year old that has the same number of two sets of pills and number of dollars. Perhaps the police would have done him a favor to call EMS for an eval.

Pills

Something happening with this 69 year old? Yeah, he's 69 years old. You think the number of pills he has makes a difference? That's pretty simple - he has two types of medication that he is supposed to take regularly. He's 69 and in a wheelchair for goodness sake.

10am to 2 pm?
why hold a wheelchair person down ESPECIALLY 69?
have you tried getting "around the shoulders" of a person in wheelchair?
60 of one pill
60 of another
60 dollars
hmmmmmmm...
An eval for Alzheimer/dementia would have been good idea
