Girls robbed after refusing to buy marijuana

  • Follow Crime & courts

Two Augusta teenagers told police they were robbed and later assaulted after refusing to buy marijuana Thursday in the parking lot of the Walmart on Dean’s Bridge Road, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report.

The girls, one 16 and one 17, told deputies they were approached by two 18-year-old men they knew and began talking with them. Eventually, one of the men showed them a bag of leafy green material and asked if they wanted to buy any marijuana. The victims say that when they declined, he became angry and started telling at them, then reached into the vehicle and stole $200 before getting in a black Jeep Liberty with the other man and speeding away.

According to the report, the girls followed the vehicle, blocked it in off Pleasant Home Road and demanded their money back. The Jeep passenger, they said, pushed one of the girls away and kicked her before getting back in the Jeep, whose driver maneuvered around them.

The men are being sought on charges of misdemeanor theft and simple battery.

F4therTime

"Any guesses as to what really happened?"

That is going to take a long time to figure out. No evidence available to solve this crime.

This sounds fishy!!!

How many 16 and 17 year old girls meet 2 18 year old guys they now in a parking lot and have 200.00 in cash on them!!! I would not believe this story as a parent much less the police!!!

There are cameras all over

There are cameras all over the exterior of the Walmart on Deansbridge Rd. why not have the Sheriffs department have a look see? Boy I witnessed a drug bust in that lot one day and Ronnie's boy were spankin' some dope dealers quick fashion. No time for questions handcuffed and gone to the big house! Those boys did not play and the job was well done! County needs some shared space with these big box retailers and just sit and watch the parking lots and radio when the dirty deeds are done, and bam it's over. Quick juss like dat!

Deans Bridge Road is quite a

Deans Bridge Road is quite a long drive to Pleasant Home Road. That must've been some pursuit. Yeah, there's way more to this story.

I will not say it did not

I will not say it did not happen. A close family member was kidnapped yrs ago, and police did not believe her till they saw a video the next day.

Hmmm. More likely story is

Hmmm. More likely story is the girls met the guys to buy pot. The guys took the money but didn't give the girls the pot. The girls got mad, and knowing they couldn't admit they got ripped off while trying to buy drugs, they made up the story to get their money back and get the guys in trouble. I'm pretty sure the cops know this too. But, it's not what you know; it's what you can prove. Hopefully, the truth will come out and the girls will be charged with false report of a crime and the guys catch a dope charge.
