Woman charged after 3 children found alone at motel

Sade Jacole Allen, 22, was booked into the Richmond County jail after three children were found alone in a local hotel room.

A woman was jailed Monday after three young children were left unattended in a hotel room, police said.

About 8 a.m., a man told a Richmond County sheriff’s deputy he had seen young child walking alone in a parking lot in front of Denny’s on Washington Road, according to an incident report.

The man said he had stopped the child just before the 3-year-old walked into Washington Road. The child led him back to a room at the nearby Super 8 motel, where a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old were alone.

Police contacted the front desk and were told another room in the motel was rented under the same name. A deputy found 22-year-old Sade Jacole Allen asleep in that room, according to the report.

Allen told the officer her sister was supposed to be watching the children, and that she had checked on them at 7:45 a.m. Allen was arrested and charged with three counts of deprivation of a minor.
