Jamel Cooper, 23, joins more than 100 other suspects behind bars. He is being held on a grand jury arrest warrant.
“He’s been under the radar and looking over his shoulder for several months,” said Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Vinson.
Investigators have been whittling their list of 116 suspects since the undercover operation ended Feb. 28.
Undercover officers spent seven months operating Cheap Cigarettes II, a pawn shop that had previously operated illegally on Peach Orchard Road. Burglary suspects are accused of selling stolen merchandise to undercover officers at the store.
On the first day of arrests, deputies booked 77 suspects into the Richmond County jail.
Investigators continue to search for David Anthony Owens, 20. Vinson said family members have been uncooperative. Investigators were originally told Owens had left the area.
Investigators said Owens continues to maintain his Facebook account but is very careful to not give clues on his whereabouts.
