A 20-year-old Augusta woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed during an argument Monday morning.

According to an incident report, Betty Jean Carroll and Ramone Daggett, 34, were arguing around 9:45 a.m. at her home on Thomas Lane when the stabbing occurred.

Carroll told investigators Daggett had accused her of calling another man and then struck her repeatedly. The report states Carroll then grabbed a knife and stabbed Daggett in the chest.

Police did not find any signs of physical injury to Carroll. She was booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of aggravated assault.

Daggett was transported to University Hospital with a 2-inch wide cut to his chest.
