Convicted felon missing after not returning to Augusta Transitional Center

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and other authorities are searching for a convicted felon who did not return to the Augusta Transitional Center after work late Friday, an incident report said.

Christopher Veal, 41, is less than a year into his eight-year sentence for theft by deception and other charges, according to the Georgia Department of Correc­tions Web site. An employee of the center told deputies he tried to reach Veal by contacting his known contacts in the area, but did not find him.

Veal is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 220 pounds, with hazel eyes.

Guess he's already had enough

Guess he's already had enough of the sentence even before completing a year of it! Don't the felons at this rehab center have a "tag" accessory/part that can be triggered to track their whereabouts? It should be implemented since such runaway cases are anticipated to occur.
