Ford SUV sought in fatal Richmond County hit-and-run

Police believe a vehicle like this was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident this weekend.

Police continue to search for a champagne colored Ford Explorer that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run Saturday morning.

Adrian L. Gardenhire, 53, of Hephzibah, died Saturday after he was hit by the vehicle while walking in the 4300 block of Deans Bridge Road around 2:45 a.m.

Witnesses estimate the vehicle is a 1996 to 2001 model.

According to the Richmond County sheriff’s Serious Traffic Accident Response Unit, the vehicle will have damage to the left, front corner and driver’s door. There could also be possible damage to the left, front quarter panel and hood.

And let us hope that any body shop in town will report to law officials should there be a vehicle come in for repair that fits the killer car.
What a tragedy and may the poor man rest in peace and may God give his family the comfort that is certainly needed.
